S-4 Logistics/Supply Section

PURPOSE OF LOGISTICS SECTION 

  Logistics Section is a very important Section in the ISL as it is the checks and balances of the ISL. This Section not only teaches the Individual Member about their personal gear and equipment but also gear and equipment for all sizes of units and specialized equipment in specific Sections within the ISL. Logistics cover a vast array of ISL operations and equipment, to make sure the right members have the right equipment and support for their particular mission. Without proper Logistics Support, the mission will most definitely fail.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF LOGISTIC

SECTION 

  Logistics has MANY responsibilities within the ISL, not only with organizing equipment, gear, vehicles and supplies, but also the teaching of members on the importance of such equipment. Logistics teaches members the capability of equipment, it’s purpose and also the skill to have the member choose the right equipment for the right task.

Other responsibilities include;

Personal Equipment

  Logistics make sure members have access to all the personal equipment called for on the ISL Personal Equipment SOP list. Logistics also teaches the functionality of such gear, customization, and alternative options to the specific gear.

ISL Unit Equipment

  ISL unit equipment is equipment owned by the company or unit assigned to said company or unit. This is not only tracked by Logistics but by its Sub-Section SUPPLY. SUPPLY will always know the equipment, location, serviceable condition, and readiness of said equipment. These processes are taught to members for their own individual equipment organization and readiness by Logistics/Supply as well to be used on their own gear.

ISL LOGISTICS SOPS

  ISL Logistics also has the responsibility of teaching members how to acquire, store, arrange their ISL personal equipment and gear at their home. SOPs are done this way so each family member knows exactly where their gear is located and can be easily inventoried or retrieved in an emergency. Part of being a Sheepdog is knowing you can be of help to your community, so knowing EXACTLY where all of your equipment is located is a priority.

ISL LOGISTICS SUPPLY CACHES

  ISL Supply Caches are Re-supply points throughout the Regiment (County) that the ISL can use to re-supply a team or unit that for some reason needs to be resupplied in the field during or after a mission, these caches can be hidden or placed in a secure location, so the contents won't be stolen.

ISL LOGISTICS SUPPLY NETWORK

  The ISL Supply and Support Network is a network of ISL and trusted non ISL people in an area that can be counted on to help support the ISL in time of need and can be trusted to do their part supporting the ISL by growing local crops, raising animals, recharging batteries during a grid down situation, store fuel, repair vehicles, utilize their medical skills, in time of need just to name a few. Through this network much trading and bartering will be done for local goods, food, purified water, animals, animal feed, fuel, supplies, etc. This will be set up as a normal day to day operation, not necessarily an emergency situation, so that members will get used to the idea of using the assets in their own Regiment (County).
