Higher ranks are expected to meet the Sergeant's requirements in the skills and the equipment categories. All Officers must have a background check done. As leaders they are expected to lead by example. Lieutenants in the Support Section should teach classes in their specialty are at least once every six months to members as we as, once every six months practice setting up and demonstrating a base camp. This would be useful training in case we are called on to help the community in a natural or man-made catastrophic event by Local First Responders. Firearms are not required by E-1 rank (basic member) or Family Services members, but are highly recommended, to not only defend themselves, but others as well.
